I was privileged last week to take photographs at the Fo Guang Shan Temple in Manakau Auckland.

Roses are in full bloom everywhere at the moment. These were hanging over a fence looking and
smelling divine. Couldn't resist a little play.

Yesterday I went to the Time Travelers Convention where I embarked on a nostalgic journey back in time.

Lots of wonderful Steampunkers dressed in their finery looking glamorous.

She entered the hall with a hustle and bustle 

Taken at the School of Mines in Thames. The children seemed to love every minute.

She was the font of all knowledge on the train

This talented lady Trish Riley designed and put together this wonderful hat with novels. She is able to then absorb the knowledge via the intricate pipework she told me.

Went to a wonderful photo shoot just outside of Hamilton at a small junction station where a
fantastic group of steampunk enthusiasts dressed up in their finery and had a wonderful time.
I will post post a few of my many shots as I go through them.

I first took this in Germany. The cello belongs to the artist lady we were staying with. Her father is
a well known cellist . She uses it for her drawing classes for her pupils to draw. Something drew me towards it. It's life, it's tiredness, it's aged look, once played, once loved.

Went to a wonderful Steampunk meet at one of Auckland's beautiful art galleries.

The rain seems to have subsided and we are getting some glorious spring weather so have been out and about with the camera this week.

This picture was taken at the silent movie shoot which was great fun and I  have lots of pictures to work on. Here's one of them.

This week I felt that Spring is just around the corner. The bulbs are peeping through, camellias are all but over and the magnolia tree is putting up a great show.

Here is a hyacinth I took at the Winter Gardens in Auckland's Domain, oh the smell of perfume drifted through the air.

We have had our fair share of rain and showers despite being a mild winter plus a good helping of sun which has brought out the blooms on the magnolia tree. Here are two of my shots.

This one was taken after an early morning sun shower . I called it

I did this as part of a course not my usual work. It started life as a frozen pond in Germany when
the temperature was around - 15 deg ! I wasn't sure how I would use it but I liked the scene.

So I embarked on a project with a mystical theme and came up with this nearly thirty layers later !

  

Hi Another beach  picture while walking the dog. It was a wonderful blustery day  at Long Bay beach as high tide swept angrily over the  smooth sand, sweeping up clusters of flotsam and jetsam in it's wake.
This gregarious  dog stood up on it's hind legs jumping over the waves as they came towards him.

There was quite a storm last night heavy rain, blustery wind and loud thunder.
Wonderful fog this morning as I made my way down to Long Bay beach with the dog in tow.
So much drift wood spread around the beach and crashing waves at high tide leaving little room to walk, or to photograph.

A few weeks ago I attended a photo shoot with some members of my photo group. We shot
pictures from scenes of a silent movie shoot . It was great fun and now I am enjoying all the post processing.

Yes, it's been a long time since the last post but hopefully I can now get into a regular pattern of sharing some of my work.
These last few weeks I have been playing with some of the wonderful apps I have discovered on the iPad and have been incorporating them into my workflow. Great fun.
